Cinq Music Group has named Diana Schweinbeck director of marketing in the U.S., the technology-driven record label, distribution and rights management company announced Wednesday (Aug. 28).

Schweinbeck is the founder of Atlanta-based branding and management company Schweinbeck LLC, where she’s worked with hip-hop and R&B acts such as Sy Ari Da Kid, OG Maco, Damar Jackson and Paxquiao. She is also known for hosting monthly industry mixers featuring musical performances and special guests.

“Diana has done an amazing job so far of building awareness for her clients, and her own personal brand,” said Cinq Music president and co-founder Barry Daffurn in a statement. “Her monthly mixer in Atlanta is the place to be for networking and finding Atlanta’s upcoming talent. She has a wide range of experience in the industry, and will make a great addition for us and our artists.”

“I’m excited about creating new opportunities and executing strategies for all Cinq clients as well as for Cinq itself,” Schweinbeck added.

“The company is the best of both worlds, a record label with a distribution background. We’re highly data driven, and also engage an exceptionally powerful marketing team to take each project to a whole new level.”

Given her background, Schweinbeck will first focus on Cinq’s urban division, though she will be supporting all musical genres in her new role.

Founded in 2012, Cinq recently received $40 million in Series C funding from its parent company GoDigital Media Group that it said would be used to purchase music intellectual property and further expand internationally, particularly in emerging markets. The company, which is currently best known for its work in the Latin music realm, was a finalist for Latin Rhythm Label of the Year at the Billboard Latin Music Awards in 2016.

Cinq has made some notable deals as of late, including last year’s recording and distribution agreement with Janet Jackson through her record label Rhythm Nation Records. They also signed a worldwide distribution deal with the urban regional Mexican label Rancho Humilde earlier this month.
